Is
Aquapheresis Therapy Right for Me?
Understanding your or your loved one’s disease and available
treatment options are critical in finding the best care and ultimately,
demanding and achieving the best and most positive outcomes.
Ask Yourself:
- Do
you suffer from the symptoms of fluid overload?
- Difficulting breathing
- Swollen legs, ankles, or abdomen
- Rapid increases in weight in short lengths
of time
- Are you taking diuretics? Diuretic
drugs increase urine production. The oral forms of the drugs are
often called “water pills”.
- Are
the diuretic drugs not as effective as they once were? Are
you taking more than you used to? Is your dose above 80 mg per
day?
- Are the
diuretics failing to remove fluid? Are
you still gaining “water weight” despite taking diuretics?
Are your fluid overload
symptoms not improving or even getting worse?
- Do you visit the hospital or clinic frequently to
get your meds adjusted or to receive IV forms of the diuretic
drugs to help manage your water weight and symptoms?
- Have
you been diagnosed with Heart Failure or another condition that
would affect your ability to control your water weight?
